Tux 3/25
Well M@ is trying to lure Affix to St. Patties Day weekend, but according to the calendar, he be @ Tux on 3/25-3/26. I'm looking seriously at that weekend. Anyone else feeling frisky? Sherburne won't be lasting long this year at this rate.

I won't comment on the frisky part but I will strongly consider it.

Would you arrive Friday or Saturday?
Bringing the splitter perhaps? Skinning up with the frosties is always so nice; I'll have mine.
Hmm....I wonder if Mr. Seth has any interesting planks up there....

I'd settle for a little blue sky, sun and some rib-sticking corn fritters in the bowl; it's been known to happen in March.
Love those big sloughy carves!

USFS appraisal of Sherburne:
"The Sherburne Ski Trail is open and you can expect to find a great assortment of challenging conditions such as water ice, deep water bars, and bare ground intermixed with hard packed snow. There is currently more water ice on the trail than any of us snow rangers can ever remember. If this weather continues we may have to think about making the ski trail into a luge run".
Being the Snow S*l*u*t that I am, my resolve for Tux this weekend is waning and my jaundiced eye is casting towards Jay. Probably would try the resort and Big Jay on saturday, and noodle around the Dip area on sunday.
Ullr, give us a sign.

some snow or rain, temps low teens at night, 30-40 day highs. persistent rain crust refrozen after a week of low temps, small to zero chance of any softening. limited new snow with wind loaded lee pockets and heavy scouring otherwise.
was considering climbing and scouting some areas with minimal thought of descent, but condix etc keep making me think its going to be a lot of work, very little reward.
as of now = out.
i think ullr should take the hint and let us all welcome a short spring cycle.

I might be in. I will keep an eye on the conditions and decide based on that.

Did a couple of laps on bj on Saturday. It was really bad, there was no snow at all and no vertical to speak of. And you had to watch out for the catamounts. I could hear them growling for fresh meat. And it was so crowded - people everywhere- with no untracked lines. And it wasn't scenic at all, just like a trip to the mall. Yeah, I don't know why anyone goes there.
