Thank you to the T4Trs who came out for the trail adoption weekend. Unfortunately I am currrently working overseas and could not attend. But by all accounts it was a great success. Here are some words of thanks from Dave Nealy from the Andro Forest Service office:
Greetings,
I just want to take a minute and express our gratitude for the great turnout and all the work accomplished this past weekend on the Sherburne Ski Trail. I'll quote Brian Johnston, who told me yesterday: "It was the best volunteer work day I've been involved with." Often we measure the success of volunteer work in terms of the relationships we build with people and that they build with the National Forest rather than in actual work accomplished on the ground; but it sounds like we can count this weekend asuccess on both fronts!
I think a special thanks goes to Ted Sutton for taking point on theorganization of the FOTR side of the operation, and of course to Al, Dave, and others (I'm sure) for beating the bushes to mobilize the troops. Thanks as well to Drew Johnston from our trail crew and to Brian for taking the crew leader roles on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
I believe this weekend is one example of exactly the kind of support we find most valuable from groups like FOTR, and I'm very excited that Chris, Anne and Bruce Jackson from our partnerships/public affairs shop will bemeeting soon to discuss grant acquisitions. It really feels to me like we're on the right track for a long-term, sustainable partnership.
Please extend this message to all those who volunteered this weekend, and anyone else I may have missed. Take care, and keep in touch.

2007 Tuckerman Inferno Update
We are getting many requests for team and solo entries for the upcomming 2007 Inferno. These spots are still limited to 30 teams, 20 Tuckerman and 20 Tuckerwoman. We are asking that if you plan to compete next year to contact us as soon as possible if you want to reserve a spot for you or your team. This will only reserve your spot and you must fill out the entry form when we open that up on the first of the year. We will hold these "reservation with intent" for 2 weeks after we open then it will be given out to the next team or individual in line. All 2007 Inferno questions or to reserve a spot for yourself or a team should be sent to:
