I have an interest in it, but dont have any gear.

Not sure where I would go either, and I dont know anyone who climbs ice really, so learning from someone might be difficult.

Ispoiler got me into it. He will be showing me the "ROPES" (pun intended). Also a few chaps that i work with at EMS are gonna help too.....

Those are some fancy axes. Be sure to make full use of those aid hooks. Good call not getting an adze if this is your first season. For decades, beginning ice climbers' transition to the intermediate level was marked by a certain scar across the bridge of the nose.
