Went up to Killington Saturday/Sunday. It was a hell of a time.
1/27 skinned up a very remote stash which is probably known to some who are reading this. This wasn't worth the 4 hours it took--there wasn't enough snow to cover the "extreme shrubbery," although there is a spot or two with less shrubbery it really needs like another 20 inches for end to end skiing. However I did get some mappage done for future reference. People will be happy to know that I avoided skiing back there, I didn't want to disturb the snowpack before it was truely ready to be skied.
Unfortunately I lost my car keys sometime while skiing and spent the afternoon in K1 waiting for a ride to get new ones. This is probably bad BC karma coming back to bite me. Bah

I should have just gone and done some more runs on the lifts, but I was overly worried about not meeting up with my housemates and missing my only chance to get new keys.
1/28 WOW. Skinned up some slackcountry that is not exactly a secret... SHIN DEEP. I ran two laps.
Natural snow was also good on Thimble (I didn't remember to check out Vertigo), and there was enough soft stuff on Outer Limits that I could ski it and not feel totally useless... only somewhat clueless. With not much recent new snowfall, Ovation and Royal Flush are no longer as good as they were a week ago, but Conclusion had been recently opened and thus still had some decent powder on it.
All in all the season is starting to shape up. Has anyone had a peak at the start of Monroe Skyline on Lincoln Peak, recently? Last time I look, there were lots of rocks showing. I expect by now they might be barely covered, but really just hidden...
