Tuckerman Ravine or GoS- Sunday March 25th
Ehh? Looks like it might be a pretty good day for it. GoS might be a better choice for finding corn...

I'll be up there (ravine), possibly bringing 2 newbies! So we're definitley bowl bound. We're aiming right side for corn, probably ski something between right gully, lobster claw, or right,right gully (which I am yet to ski).

Looks like my Moosilauke trip will be a Cardigan trip. I thought about GOS but I need a change of scenery.

I'd go GOS but my kid has three more races left in the season and they the next three Sundays.

From the Mt Wash Obs Avy Bulletin:
While the lock-up contributes greatly to the stability of the snowpack, it doesn't bode well for skiers. Tracks that have been put in over the past couple days are now frozen solid. In Hillman's yesterday there was a skier-triggered sluff that left a large pile of wet debris in the middle of the gully. Above the debris there are open holes with water running on the surface. After more rain and freezing overnight, this section just might be the worst skiing I could ever imagine. A close second would be the Little Headwall, as it has just about completely blown out. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring warmer temps and some sunshine to change things up a bit.

Get up to the Gulf early, as this will freeze up rather early when the sun shifts to the bowl.

I was in GOS today (3/23), and hope to be in the bowl tomorrow with a couple others. Limited online access, so will post more detailed TR later.
Ski trail alternated between frozen (shaded areas) and very heavy, wet snow.
Gullies were very nice in upper sections, but lower sections were also very thick, wet snow (probably from the rain Thursday night without a real complete freeze). My understanding was the bowl was in the fog virtually all day today, yet GOS was plenty of sun (passing clouds). Top of the ridge was more fogged in.

Wow that sucks. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse than last year.

word from someone who hiked from GOS was HH was very scary today, completely frozen...
