Bagged my first deer last night!

On the way home from Ween at Hampton Beach. I-95 south, almost 4 miles south of Hampton. Came around the bend after the liquor store, and there were 6 deer crossing the road single file.

I swerved to try and get between two of them, but there wasn't enough room, so I gunned it.

Nailed a doe. It was fairly small (couldn't have been more than 100lbs. or so), and bounced right off the front end of my friend's car (I was driving). It hit the ground, and the car went over it.

Everyone was fine (except the deer and the car). Carcass disappeared about a half hour later and the cops were looking for it, so no tasty venison snacks today.

When I first saw the title of this post, I thought "is he poaching or is he in some weird place where deer season's open now." Glad you're okay, sorry no tasty treats for you, but sounds like somebody else is enjoyin em. Better luck next time.

I assume Ween kicked ass as usual.

Glad you are okay!
No mention of airbag deployment so I guess it's repairable...

No airbags deployed. For colliding with a deer at 75mph, I did everything that you can do correctly. Damage was minimal, and no injuries occurred.

Yeah, sounds like you were spot on...

wouldn't be so good with a moose though...

years ago my pal Nikki drove a Lotus Europa right under a moose on Rt16, pure luck in a thick fog.... just down the road he pulled over, jumped out and blew chow, I had to drive for a little while after that.

Egads! Remind me never to loan you my car... .... Glad you and your pax are OK. So you've been in and around this northcountry and this is your 1st? Impressive! I'm down for 3... 2 does and huge 8 pt buck.

Welcome to the auto-hunter's club by default. Oh well.... so much for venison veal steaks. Maybe next time. (and let's hope there is no next time)

I never hit a dear - but was zipping down 16 once when a deer hit us - head butt into the passenger door. Small scratch + some hair in the molding.

Does that get me in the club? I love being in a club.

I don't get it--why did you gun it when you knew you couldn't miss it? Is this what's recommended or where you just hungry?

Bummer dood. Glad everyone is ok!

2 months after getting my Outback, i knocked a deer over. came around a corner at aroun 40mph, saw the deer, slammed on the brakes, hit the deer at about 15mph, literally KNOCKED HIM over, and he got up and ran away. I thought i had lucked out, but it was just enough force to crack the whole of the bottom lip of my bumper......damn deer.

RR. The moose lotus story is insane......

Yup, the kid dodged many a bullet while I knew him, but his luck ran out just a few years later.

Because I wanted to F*&K him up!

No really, I gunned it because he was moving forward and I was trying to get around him.
