So the bachelor party was a success. The itinerary was to do 13 falls and the Bondcliff.
We arrived at Lincoln Woods Visitor Center at around 1am on Sat morning. After getting our gear together we headed out for Franconia Brook Campsite, which took just under an hr, not bad at all. After a couple hrs of sleep we took off for the 13 falls tentsite. We left real early just so that we were assured a spot...The weather was incredible, low 70's without a cloud in sight.
We spent all day on Saturday just lounging around the falls, drinking Dewars, JD, and Makers Mark. The swimming holes were a good treat. We decided to get to bed pretty early since the trip for Sunday was going to be tough.
Sunday included a round trip hike from 13 falls to the Bondcliff, just over 16 miles round trip. Although 16 miles doesnt sound that far, it was tough as heck...the climb up South Twin was a doozy, but certainly worthwhile. The views from up there were incredible. We met some folks at the Galehead Hut who had started in April in Georgia and were just about finished with the whole AT..nice work out of them. After reaching Mt Bond we decided to take a break and eat some lunch...the bondcliff was now within a short spit, or so I thought.
Getting to the Bondcliff was easy, we still had lots of energy. After snapping a few shots, it was time to turn around. The climb back up to Mt Bond took all my energy, but would do it again and again...we met some chick flying a kite up on South Twin on the way back who ended up hanging with us for the duration of the trip.
We made it back to 13 falls in just over 10 hrs...spent the rest of the night hanging out and whatnot.
We departed from 13 falls back to Lincoln Woods Monday morning...what a fantastic trip.
Below are some pics from all over...enjoy.
