Lightbulb Avalanches This Week

Wednesday there were two avalanches that came down Hillman's Highway. Only two people were caught on Hillman's. Supposedly they escaped without any serious injuries.

Friday morning there was a large avalanche that came down the middle of the bowl. I have not heard of anyone getting caught in this one, or of any injuries.

It looks like after all of the snow, rain, wind (Gust over 100 on Friday), the freeze, thaw, and warm temps this weekend; that lots of the snow and ice are wanting to move down to the bottom of Hillman's and the bowl.

I skied Hillman's on April 7, and it was a perfect 10 Day. Not a cloud in the sky, no wind, we were cooking from the sun blasting heat off of the snow, and hiking up in knee deep powder. I will post some nice pics later this weekend.
