North Peaks

North of Mount Washington you'll find Mt. Clay, Jefferson, Adams and Madison. The Appalachian trail passes over all of these treeless summits. Open and very exposed, hiking across these peaks is not recommended except in good weather.

During the summer, hikers can stay at one of the AMC huts located between the two northern peaks, Mt. Adams and Mt. Madison.
