Last Snow 1997
|
This is it! Last snow as of Thursday July 17, 1997. One skier and 3 snowboarders took in a few turns on the last 30 feet or so of snow in the bowl today. Although you can't see it in this photo, there are HUGE rocks at the edges of the snow as well as crevasses so skiing/boarding wasn't easy and extremely dangerous.
Our group was here spending the next three days hiking across the summits of the White Mountains. We took a slight detour to check out the ravine after noticing a snowboarder climbing to the summit for a ride back down the mountain at the end of the day.
