Avalanche danger was moderate to high today, Sunday May 18, 1997. Cool temperatures, wind gusts in the morning, and great sun in the afternoon. 13 inches
of fresh snow had arrived Friday night!
Here is a shot of the first half of our group of 22 taken outside the Pinkham Notch Center at the Tuckerman Ravine trail head. Most of the group are members
of the Ottawa RA Ski Club. Sally (the red jacket and
brown stretch pants) smiles the most since Sherpa Greg (red jacket next to Sally) was lugging up
her 35 lbs of ski equipment on his back. Thats me (Dave) second from the left, and in case your wondering, thats Stephan in the florescent green jacket (He had matching lime green glow ski pants, shorts, gloves and sunglasses as well!).
